X - Factory's Paul Sinclair won the first SuperBowl Shakedown race at Redneck R/C on Saturday Feb 1st. Team drivers Jim Edmonds and Chris Cristo also attended the event and did well with their X 6 Cubes. The Baldwinsville, NY event, co-hosted by RCSoup.com, attracted 211 entries, including about 40 in mod buggy and 22 in 17.5 buggy. It was a one-day event, and the large number of entries dictated just two qualifying heats.

Paul was on a TQ pace at the 4-1/2 minute mark of qualifier #1 when he and Jim Edmonds got tangled up, dropping Paul to second for that race. However, in the second run Paul took off and turned in the only 18-lap run to TQ the event. Edmonds qualified third and Cristo eighth, so all the Team was in the A.

Unfortunately, the race computer experienced serious problems right after the first race of the mains was run, and the data base was corrupted. The huge field meant that the mains did not start until after 7pm, and several attempts to solve the computer problem were unsuccessful. A bit after 9pm the race director decided to get everybody home early rather than try to re-enter all the info into the computer and finish racing well after midnight, so great-looking trophies designed by Kevin Crandall of RCSoup were awarded based on qualifying position. So Paul won, Jim took third, and Chris eighth.
